Authorities in Alabama are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the deaths of a former television sportscaster and her husband, as an outpouring of support and remembrance comes from colleagues and community members. Christina Chambers, a former local sports reporter, and her husband were found unresponsive in their Hoover home on the morning of December 16, 2025. Emergency services responded after a family member checked on the couple. Despite medical efforts, both adults were pronounced deceased. Police confirmed that a young child who was also in the home was found safe and unharmed.

Law enforcement officials have stated that the matter remains under active review and that details are being handled with care and sensitivity. Authorities emphasized that information has been limited out of respect for the family and to allow the process to proceed properly. They have also reassured the public that there is no ongoing concern for community safety and have asked that speculation be avoided while the review continues.

News of Chambers’ passing prompted heartfelt reactions from the journalism community. Her former station, WBRC 6 News, shared a statement remembering her as a dedicated professional with a strong passion for sports reporting and community storytelling. Former colleagues described her as enthusiastic, dependable, and deeply committed to her work, reminding viewers of her presence at local sporting events and community programs. Messages of sympathy also came from local leaders and members of the public.

Beyond broadcasting, Chambers was widely respected for her work as an educator and mentor. After leaving full-time television, she taught broadcast journalism at Thompson High School, where she helped students develop skills in media and communication. In 2024, she was recognized by the Alabama Scholastic Press Association as Advisor of the Year. Many who knew her say her lasting impact can be seen in the students she guided, the stories she shared, and the care she showed to those around her.
