Our cat, Luna, had always fit perfectly into that pattern. She was calm, observant, and content to sleep through the night in her bed near the wall. Gradually, I started waking during the night with the sense that something nearby was quietly alert. At first, I dismissed it as restlessness or imagination. But the feeling returned often enough to make me curious. One night, I opened my eyes and saw Luna sitting near our pillows, completely still and watching the room. She didn’t appear anxious or aggressive, just focused. During the day, she remained affectionate and relaxed, napping in sunny spots and following us around the house. To rule out any issues, we scheduled a routine veterinary checkup, which confirmed she was healthy. Wanting to better understand her behavior, we decided to observe her nights more closely. A small camera placed in the bedroom revealed a simple pattern. Around the same time each night, Luna would wake, climb onto the bed, and sit nearby. When my husband’s snoring grew louder, she would gently reach out and touch his face just enough to interrupt the noise. Once the room was quiet again, she would calmly return to her bed.
What initially seemed mysterious turned out to be a quiet example of problem-solving. Luna wasn’t reacting to anything unusual; she was simply responding to her surroundings in a practical way.
