Logic puzzles can make a simple scene surprisingly difficult. One popular puzzle shows a man surrounded by what appear to be dangerous obstacles:
a snake, a lake filled with crocodiles, and a lion nearby. At first, every direction seems unsafe, making it look as though there is no escape.
The key is to avoid assuming that the obstacles will remain in the same positions. Instead of rushing toward danger, the man watches and waits.
Eventually, the lion becomes thirsty and moves toward the lake. This changes the situation, as the animals become focused on one another rather than blocking every possible route.
The man can then use this temporary opening to move toward safety. He does not need extraordinary strength or a way to defeat the animals. The solution depends on patience, observation, and timing.
That is what makes the puzzle tricky. We often treat obstacles as permanent, when in reality circumstances can change.
The lesson is simple: when a problem seems impossible, don’t always rush into action. Sometimes, the smartest solution is to step back, observe carefully, and wait for the right opportunity.
