Stunning Staircases Are Sure to Inspire Your Own Grand Entrance

Stairs are the backbone of the house. Not only do they connect the rooms and floors of a house, but they are often the first room that a guest discovers in the entrance area. Therefore, stairs serve a dual purpose: they need to be both inviting and functional.

Given their, er, exalted role within a home, stairs deserve just as much decorative attention and glamor as the rest of the house. Stairs, for example, are ideal for modern wallpaper or an unexpected splash of color. Unique lighting, an artful collection, and statement runners are also great ways to liven up stairwells. Finally, hand-forged iron stair railings, custom fretwork, and even inlaid tile can transform stairs into sculptural masterpieces.

Read on to discover an impressive collection of 64 of our all-time favorite staircase designs. These beautiful staircase ideas will help you plan your own grand entrance.
