The types of cherry wood and what they are good for

One of the best furniture woods in the US is cherry wood. We consider it our most popular seller and it comes from the American Black Cherry fruit tree; Chances are you’ve seen one so far.

There are a variety of cherry wood colors and people really appreciate what they can do with them. It gets redder over time and is therefore a good choice for various pieces of furniture in your home. The hardwood is also easy to work with and grows in the eastern regions.

Usually the cherry is highlighted by small pitch pockets that give the wood a nice texture along with the depth. Because of this complex grain pattern, cherry is very pleasant to look at and therefore very popular.

The special thing about this fruit tree is that it grows so tall compared to others like an apple or a pear that you cannot harvest it, so it is cut into wood. If you didn’t know that cherry wood changes color over time and it can be very different.

Sweet cherry wood

The texture we see in this wood has been found and it is a bit wavy or completely straight. The pores have no precise arrangement at all and it also has a 2-3 radial. The sweet cherry wood can be compared to an alternative for the black cherry wood found in North America.

In comparison to black cherry, sweet cherry wood has more contrasts and is stronger.

Brazilian cherry

In comparison to cherry wood, the Brazilian cherry is used more for floors. The reality is that this wood is not even part of the cherry family and is actually part of the Hymenaea courbaril legume species.

From a marketing perspective, the name was assigned to match the deep red color of the wood. Brazilian cherry suddenly means exaggerated grandiosity, but since its popularity has waned somewhat, this beautiful wood can still be a great choice for flooring. You can get it in a variety of forms so you are sure to find the right solution when you use it.

Patagonian cherry

Here we go again to another type of cherry wood called the Patagonian cherry. This is a unique pink wood that is very dense and can brighten any room it is intended to be used in. It can be used for both residential projects and commercial floors, depending on your preferences.

Chilean cherry

Chilean cherry has a nice color that goes towards a light pale pink. It is safe to use in many projects and over time the color will change to a darker one. It is soft and fits perfectly in residential areas. So why not give it a real chance?

The American Hardwood Export Council believes cherry wood is one of the easiest to use. Cherry is very preferred by various furniture manufacturers because it has rich colors that only seem to get better with age. It grinds easily and ends relatively easily, so there aren’t that many problems.

Cherry wood has a straight figure and is very strong because it can withstand any type of impact or other abuse. Of course, that doesn’t mean we have to push it to its limits, but it’s good to know.
