Kitchen décor is designed to dress up your kitchen, make it look more presentable, and maybe even help you keep it organized in the process. You don’t even need to sacrifice valuable counter-top space for some décor ideas, as they can be hung up on walls or placed in a space that you don’t find particularly useful.
Kitchen décor doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive; you can choose subtle additions and alterations so you don’t crowd the working space. You can add a vase here and there, and fill them with your favorite flowers. You can hang holly wreaths up when Christmas approaches, or place some colorful candles on the counter. If you do decide to light the candles, make sure that there are no flammable materials nearby, and also that children or pets aren’t likely to get burned.
Sometimes it’s not enough to add a few ornaments and call it kitchen décor. In this case, you may want to go for something a bit more permanent. Consider the themes recurrent in your kitchen, such as the shapes of various handles or the color of the cabinets. With the latter, if your furniture is mismatched, you can add a lick of paint to get a theme going. Perhaps you’re in the mood for a daring yellow, or a royal purple to go with your living room.
If you do decide to make any big changers, consider not only the cost of what you want to do, but also whether you have a tendency to change your mind within the week. You won’t want to painstakingly paint each and every cupboard if you know you’ll come back with a tin of the original white mix.
