A small room can be a fantastic place to decorate unless you have a queen-size bed that takes up almost all of the space. There are other objects that need a place in our set and we also need to be able to walk between them. If you want to know how to set up a small bedroom with a queen bed without losing your mind (or style), read on.
A queen size bed is 80 cm long and 60 cm wide, which makes it perfect for guest rooms as two people can sleep on it. The irony of the situation, however, is that these spaces are not very large.
Although they take up less space than a king bed, its location is still a difficult one.

Many people believe that such a large bed is an obstacle. However, they are exactly the opposite: if the space is reduced, we have to put it in the center and change the position of our furniture so that it adapts to the bed. With the right layout, we can make our room look bigger than it is.
Keep in mind that most of our furniture may not be part of our small bedrooms unless you use minimalist furniture. Everything that is not necessary has to be in a different place, and little by little you will see how the space gains space.
How to arrange a small bedroom with a queen-size bed
Start with a blueprint

The best way to start selling your furniture is when you know the measures you are working with. Write down the dimensions of your room on a blueprint that you can use as a reference.
Preferably add the position of the doors and windows so that you can take them into account when setting up the furniture.
Measure every piece of furniture you want to place in your room. Some measures can be accessed online as they are standards, but you inevitably need to measure some furniture.
Avoid details in bed

The choice of bed for our small rooms should be kept simple, avoiding Imperial or Renaissance styles with large frames and awnings.
A queen-size bed in a small room can still be elegant, but with the details of the backrest and stirrups.
To maximize space, you can gain additional storage space with a raised bed with a platform and shelves below.
Remember that you need at least 60 cm space around the bed to walk. Any shorter distance creates space problems, even if bedside tables are found.
The walls are your friends

Depending on the use of the bed, it may be advisable to press it against one or more walls. Although many people want to place the bed in the middle of the bedroom, most small bedroom layouts that leave both sides free can result in a large loss of space.
The first is to determine which walls can best place the bed. These are the ones that are opposite the entrance of the room so that when we enter we do not feel the immediate pressure of the bed on the available area.

Now we can choose to just glue the back of the wall or, on the contrary, if we need to glue it to one of its sides. Although this limits our mobility in bed, we gain more than 60 cm of space for the room.
The colors for the leaves should be between white and pastel tones with subtle and delicate patterns. Dark colors make the rooms look smaller than they are, while the light ones have the opposite effect.
For the bedside tables, some models can be embedded in the walls to create a visual feeling of spaciousness in the room, as they do not take up any space.
Use every subject

Storage is essential in every room. Our things cannot be found anywhere; You need special rooms to stay tidy.
Placing a number of shelves can be impractical due to the space requirements. It is therefore recommended that the bed has compartments.
The closet is an area where we can order the entire room. With the right position of clothes and shoes, we should have enough space to store other items. If our closet is a storage challenge, it is best to hire an expert to order it.
Do not put chairs or sofas in your room. Instead, use a row of stools or a large bench with drawers to keep your things.
We have to use vertical space

How do I arrange a small bedroom with a queen-size bed? Simple, with all available vertical space. Either with shelves, cupboards, etc. Any furniture or mechanisms that allow us to organize vertically should be considered in our plans.
The pompous cupboards with large doors are very beautiful, but also impractical in a small space. Instead, we can replace them with hanging rail systems. Towels and some items of clothing can be folded perfectly under the bed (in the appropriate drawers).
If you don’t plan to embed bedside tables on the wall, the alternative is that the back of the bed has enough space to replace them.
A visual trick

The colors are perfect to deceive the senses. For example, bright rooms look wider than they really are. That is why almost all small rooms are painted in white or similar colors.
Any color that can reflect the light and not make the room appear dark works. We have to stay away from cold and opaque colors.
Some examples are white, pastel colors, lilac, yellow, sky blue, light green, etc. If we want a lighter finish, ivory and cream are our favorite options.
Beyond the walls, some furniture can take on the light color palette that matches the set. Focus on these great decorations like curtains, sheets, carpets and the like.
Keep the minimalist style

The minimalist philosophy is based on keeping our entire home free from clutter. The more objects we have that serve no purpose, the less space we have. In some cases, this disruption can suffocate, ruining the entire environment.
We shouldn’t follow the traditional pattern of placing armchairs and tables in our 12 × 12 space when we don’t want to use them. We have already said that there are alternatives for each of these furnishings that can be more practical.
Our closet is an excellent place to start cleaning. If you no longer wear clothes, donate them to charity. If you just get rid of a few objects, you will see how you gain more freedom in space.
Consider every option

Knowing how to arrange a small bedroom with a queen-size bed means being ready to make bold changes. If you want a TV in your room, you have to put it on the wall. If you need more storage space for your clothes, try a closet that reaches to the ceiling.
The possibilities of the walls to clear the floors are unlimited. You can even install sconces to remove floor lamps (although it does require construction).
